How Do I Get Around in the US?
The type of transportation available is based on where in the country you plan to visit. Amtrak offers affordable options if you plan to travel to various areas of the country. There are also many bus lines that traverse across the nation. Large cities, like Washington DC, Seattle, Washington, New York City and others offer public transportation systems in the form of subways and buses as well. Smaller towns, however, may not have a public transportation system which may require you to use taxis or ride-share programs like Uber and Lyft. Rental cars are another option, but many rental car agencies require drivers to be a certain age, usually 25, to rent a car.
