How do I get Around Germany?
The most common way to travel around Germany is by train as the country has an extensive railway system. When traveling by train, you must present the ticket and the credit card you used to purchase it to the conductor. It is also possible to travel Germany by car. There are outstanding service stations every 30 miles or so with restrooms, restaurants and other amenities. In between them are small picnic areas with restrooms as well. Driving in German cities can be stressful as they are very congested and there is little parking. Bus transportation is also available although it is currently more limited than train travel, but this is changing. If you are just trying to get around a city, consider using a ride-sharing program. In Germany, this is not necessarily Uber or Lyft. Instead, you ride in a private car and simply provide gas money.
